iPhone & Maui Real Estate --- There is a Relationship

iPhone & Maui Real Estate --- There is a Relationship

iPhone - the one that started it all.

Well, the latest version of The Perfect Toy has finally hit the streets. Don't get me wrong. I love my current generation iPhone just as much as the next person. It's an immeasurably useful tool in my line of work, and it's just a fun toy.

As much as I rely on mine, though, I didn't join the campers or the professional line sitters to claim the latest copy. I'm human, and I recognize the need to disconnect every now and then.

Living on the island of Maui, I and everyone else who lives here enjoy the culture of constant reminders that disconnecting is okay. Real life is meant to be experienced in person - not virtually lived through the latest touch-screen device.

This home at 120 N. Holokai, perched on its own very private two acres, is a perfect example of how wonderful real life can be. Just take a look at how the home's designer refused to compromise on celebrating the year 'round outdoor life that our quaint little town of Haiku has to offer. The wrap-around lanai's generous depth allows the owners and guests to enjoy the near-perfect Maui weather year 'round, rain or shine.  Neither the full exterior or the interior of the home is included in this photo because I'm wanting you - the reader - to focus on the blurred line between indoors and out.

Although the lanai is a part of the physical structure of the home, its indoor/outdoor status generously - and justifiably - celebrates the landscape. It marries the structure of the home with the lush tropical vegetation that gently encloses the property. Whether having dinner on the lanai or just relaxing in a chaise lounge with a glass of wine and an ocean view, those utilizing the lanai as it should be used cannot help but be whisked away to another mental and emotional place - one that leaves behind the touch screens and the latest this-and-that - and simply enjoys the gift of being.

This incredible minimalist 2/2/2 on 2 acres nestled within walking distance of the oceans edge allows the owners and guests to enjoy nightly sunsets, cool mornings and cool evenings, total privacy...shall I go on?

No...I'll save some for you.
